Downsides to virtualization?
In a Computerworld article last week, Jerome Wendt points out the downsides and risks of server virtualization. His third big risk, “Single Point of Failure” is the one we began zeroing in on about a year ago with our v-Available initiative. With the right HA software it’s possible to protect a system and mitigate the risk of failure so that if you’re deploying a virtual environment, downtime, planned or unplanned, will be virtually (no pun intended) impossible.
By using HA software such as everRun VM, an organization can get all the benefits of server virtualization without the Single Point of Failure risk Jerome talks about.
